The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) announced on Friday, July 1, 2016, that the Greenville Housing Authority was one of the 42 housing authorities awarded more than $5 million for their work towards aggressively ending veteran homelessness.
TGHA will use it's $62,060 award to continue housing veterans through the recruitment of landlords/property owners to participate in the HUD-VASH program.
"We are excited to receive these funds to assist us in our efforts of housing 135 homeless veteran families. We are also thankful for exceptional partners like the WJB Dorn VA Medical Center (Greenville VA Outpatient Center) and our countless landlords and community partners" - Ivory N. Mathews, Executive Director.
