First-Time Home Buyers Seminar Registration Now Open 


Greenville, SC – The second annual First-Time Home Buyers Seminar, presented by The Greenville Housing Authority and Bank of America, will be held Saturday, June 15, 2019 at the Greenville Convention Center from 10:00am to 3:00pm. Seminar registration is open through June 7, 2019.  


The annual event, held in conjunction with National Home Buyers month, is designed to provide anyone interested in homeownership the knowledge and resources to successfully navigate the home buying process. 


The seminar provides information for first-time home buyers with presentations explaining the home buying process, credit, financing, down payment assistance, and responsibilities of homeownership after closing.


The seminar is open to working or disabled families who are first-time home buyers. Registration is limited and pre-registration is required. Greenville Housing Authority’s residents will have registration priority. Lunch will be provided for registered participants.

  • Preparing for Home Ownership        
  • Different Homeownership Programs
  • The Home Buying Process
  • Financing Options
  • Down Payment Assistance                 
  • How to get qualified
  • Home Inspections
  • The Closing Process

The seminar will include presentations by personnel from Bank of America, Self-Help Credit Union, Community Works Carolina, SC Housing, Habitat for Humanity, the City of Greenville, and Genesis Homes.

Nalisha Henry, Partner Relationship Manager from the United Way of Greenville County, will facilitate a panel discussion that will include Dr. Yvonne Duckett of the Greenville County Human Relations Commission, Tameka Thomason of Keller Williams - Central, Chris Alderson of J. Darryl Holland Law Firm, and Dave Adams of Pro-Tech Inspections and Legal Service (Willis).
