Housing Fair for Veterans

an extension of the Mayors Challenge to End Veteran Homelessness in Greenville

“Mayor Knox White will acknowledge landlords who house former homeless veterans”

 

 

A “Housing Fair for Veterans” will be held on Tuesday, June 9, 2015 from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm at the TD Convention Center at 1 Exposition Drive, Greenville SC 29607. A light lunch will be served for Veterans from 11:30 am until 1:00 pm. This Housing Fair for veterans is one of many efforts the Greenville Housing Authority and other partner organizations in Greenville County will use to connect homeless Veterans to the VASH-Rental Assistance Program, Supportive Services for Veterans Families (SSVF), employment and training programs and other resources they may access throughout the Greenville community.

 

Mayor Knox White and Larry Knighter, Field Office Director for the United States Housing & Urban Development will be providing remarks on the Mayors Challenge to End Homelessness; an initiative of Joining Forces, U.S. Interagency Council on Homelessness, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Mayor White and Mr. Knightner will also present a certification of appreciation to over 35 landlords who currently house Veterans.
