DID YOU KNOW?
Greenville Housing Authority jurisdiction includes all incorporated and unincorporated areas of the County of Greenville, South Carolina, excluding the City of Greer. Below are a few historical events capturing the steps taken by the local municipal entities to expand TGHA’s jurisdiction.
July 30, 1976 | Greenville County Council grants territorial jurisdiction to operate Section 8 Rental Assistance within the unincorporated areas of Greenville County.
April 21, 1981 | Greenville County Council grants territorial jurisdiction to operate conventional public housing programs in all areas contiguous to the City of Greenville, including all unincorporated areas of Greenville County.
1982 | 28 Single Family units acquired from HUD, the first step in administering public housing units in areas contiguous to the City of Greenville and in all unincorporated areas of Greenville County.
2018 | Today TGHA administers the Housing Choice Voucher Program serving 2,961 households (139 VASH Vouchers & 181 RAD-PBV Units), is in the ownership structure and/or management of 1,144 units and provides an array of Resident Services Programs.
