of the Year Award for the agency’s website: TGHA.net.
Norfolk, VA – The Greenville Housing Authority (TGHA) was awarded the 2018 Website of the Year in the Extra Large Public Housing category by the Southeastern Regional Council of the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials (SERC-NAHRO) during the organization’s annual conference held recently in Norfolk, Virginia.
SERC-NAHRO, a regional organization of Public Housing Authorities, is comprised of agencies from a 10-state area: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia.
TGHA initially developed the interactive, responsive website, TGHA.net, to create transparency for the Public Housing Authority and to enhance communications with residents, staff, commissioners and the Greenville community. Developing and launching the interactive, responsive website allowed TGHA to communicate immediately with the Greenville community via text, email, website posts and feeds to social media.
In addition, the website features portals for residents, landlords, TGHA staff and board members for easy, digital access to applicable information. The website serves as the hub for the agency’s communications.
The website was redesigned in 2018 to enhance access to information portals and to feature TGHA’s 80th Anniversary logo brand. The redesigned site earned the SERC-NAHRO Website of the Year among several entries from housing authorities in the 10 state region of SERC-NAHRO.
“The TGHA website plays an integral part in both the internal and external communications for our agency. Prior to the development of the website, TGHA had difficulty reaching stakeholders in a timely manner with important news and information. Now, we are able to reach residents, our staff members and community members almost instantly through text, emails, website updates and social media posts. The site also allows us to provide digital resources and online forms, greatly reducing the amount of paper generated by our agency. We are honored to be recognized by SERC-NAHRO for our innovative website and are pleased to have produced such a beneficial site for our community,” stated Ivory Mathews, Executive Director of The Greenville Housing Authority.
The TGHA website was developed working closely with Brooks Jeffrey Marketing, Inc. of Mountain Home, Arkansas. Brooks Jeffrey is a full-service communications and digital design firm specializing in government website solutions for housing authorities and law enforcement throughout the United States.
