Arcadia Hills was Greenville Housing Authority first HOPE VI Public Housing Revitalization Award. Below are a few historical events capturing the evolution of Woodland/Pearce Homes (1964), to what is known today as the Arcadia Hills Community (Valley Creek, Arcadia Hills Senior and 95 Homeownership single family units).
1964 | Housing Authority built Woodland-Pearce Homes, a 340 unit housing complex.
June 6, 1999 | TGHA seeks funding to demolish and rebuild Woodland-Pearce Homes.
1999 | Awarded $21 Million United States Department of Housing & Urban Development HOPE VI Revitalization Grant for the Redevelopment of Woodland Homes and Pearce Homes Public Housing Communities.
April 7, 2000 | Woodland-Pearce units to be demolished.
October 2003 | Valley Creek (48 Unit – New Construction Family Development)
2005 | Single Family Homeownership Units (95 Unit – New Construction)
November 2007 | Arcadia Hills (34 Unit – New Construction Family Development)
January 2009 | Arcadia Hills Senior (10 Unit – Senior Development)
